They've done it again! Philip Simmons High's boys and girls cross country teams won state championships today in Aiken! For the boys, this is their second consecutive state title and for the girls this is their FOURTH consecutive state title! Congratulations to both teams on another great season!

Cross High had multiple activities and events for Patriotism Week! For its Veterans Day program, both community and school veterans were invited to be honored for their service, hard work and dedication. The school also held a Veterans Day essay contest and announced the winner during the program, highlighting student appreciation and reflection on the meaning of service.

Westview Middle showed nothing ~bundt~ growth and greatness during the 2024-2025 school year! WVM saw more than a five percent increase on its SC Ready ELA scores and received a Good rating on the most recent State Report Card. Congratulations to the Stratford High Marching Knights on an incredible end to their season! The Knights placed eighth in the SCBDA 6A State Marching Band Championship Prelims, but then climbed to a fifth place finish in the SCBDA 6A State Marching Band Championship Finals! This is the highest placement the Marching Knights have EVER made in the marching championships.

The Goose Creek High Spirit of Gold Band crossed the pond for its marching band show this season! Goose Creek High placed second at the SCBDA Lower State Marching Band Championships and finished seventh overall in SCBDA's AAAAA State Marching Band Championships. This season was the first time in school history that the Spirit of Gold Band was named a AAAAA state finalist!

Congratulations to the Iron Horse Band on winning first place overall in AA competition at the Deep South Competition in Georgia! At the competition, the Iron Horses also received Superiors in Drum Major, Color Guard, Twirler, Percussion and Overall Band categories. This is the first time in Philip Simmons High's history that the band has received Superior ratings in every category. With this final victory, the Iron Horses have won first place in Class AA at every competition this marching band season.

The Iron Horses have been crowned AA girls volleyball state champions! This is the first time since 1987 that a BCSD school has won a state title in girls volleyball. Great job, Iron Horses!

The 2024-2025 school year was paws-itively amazing at College Park Elementary! Not only did the Beagles show more than 10 percent growth in their SC Ready ELA and SC Ready Science scores, they also increased their State Report Card rating to Good. To celebrate, CPE's staff was surprised with the scores and cupcakes yesterday!
