We look good in pink! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our central office staff wore pink today to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, remember those lost, and raise awareness.
CPR saves lives. Now, with the help of the American Heart Association, every one of our high schools has a CPR in Schools kit, which can be used repeatedly to teach students the lifesaving skills of CPR and AED use.

At Bowen's Corner Elementary, anything is popsicle! BCE celebrated seeing at least 10 percent growth in its SC Ready ELA scores by popping up with popsicles for students and staff at the Hawk's Nest Park Fun Run.



The Gators have risen to the occasion! Today, Goose Creek High's staff celebrated the school's increased passage rates on THREE major end of course exams. GCH saw at least five percent growth in students passing their U.S. History and Algebra I EOCs and more than 10 percent growth in Biology I.










Reminder: Monday, Oct. 13, is a Teacher Workday/Staff Development Day. School campuses will be closed to students.

Popsicles, pizza, and progress! Howe Hall AIMS celebrated its tremendous gains in its SC Ready scores with popsicles for students and pizzas for staff this week. The Chameleons achieved more than 10 percent growth in SC Ready ELA, SC Ready Math and SC Ready Science! Plus, 75 percent of HHA's students are on grade level for ELA.

October is National Principals Month! Our school principals inspire their students and staff to make a positive difference every day.

Coming up Oct. 13-17, National School Lunch Week allows students to taste the world from the comfort of their school cafeteria. Encourage your students to grab a tray and try something new during National School Lunch Week.

Don't ghost your future! Mark your calendars for our Spooktacular Hiring Event on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at BCSD's main office.
Proud doesn't even begin to cover it. Last Friday, these students took the next step in their learning journeys as they were welcomed back to their home schools from the Berkeley County Next Step Learning Center. During a special "STEP UP" Ceremony, students were commended by district and school staff for making the changes needed to return to their home schools and continue working toward their high school diplomas.








To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Goose Creek Elementary hosted a top-notch Hispanic Heritage Night with traditional dancers, assorted games, and arts and crafts.
SURPRISE! Because Macedonia Middle saw over five percent growth in their SC Ready Math scores AND more than 10 percent growth in students who passed the Algebra 1 end of course exam, MMS math teachers were treated to brunch last Friday.





Forecasts now indicate that Tropical Depression Nine is turning away from the coast. As a result, all schools and offices will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, September 29. We will continue to monitor forecasts and receive regular updates from the National Weather Service.
Who doesn't love a little treat? To say thank you for supporting their students and seeing them to at least five percent growth in their SC Ready ELA and SC Ready Science scores, Nexton Elementary hosted an ice cream social for its staff.


These Bulldogs know how to get down! Boulder Bluff Elementary held a dance and popcorn party today for its fifth and fourth grade students who received a meets/exceeds on SC Ready last year. Overall, BBE saw more than five percent growth in its SC Ready ELA and SC Ready Science results for the 2024-2025 school year.





#DYK this week is National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week? Adult education and strong literacy skills transform lives for the better. To acknowledge the importance of adult education, Mayor Thomas Hamilton issued a proclamation on the steps of the Adult Learning Center in Moncks Corner to kick off the week.
