We pride ourselves on cultivating talent from within and assisting our school administrators to reach their professional goals. Spearheaded by our Office of School Services, BCSD's Emerging Leaders Program helps develop and retain current BCSD assistant principals who aspire to become school principals one day. By investing in our current APs now, we're shaping future school leaders who will grow student achievement, create a welcoming school environment, and love serving the students of Berkeley County.

The Hawks showed their strength, but in the end couldn't pin down West-Oak. Regardless of the outcome, they still made us and the Hanahan community proud this season. They finished the year as the Lower State Champions and State Runner-Up.

School counselors amplify student success! National School Counseling Week 2026 (Feb. 2-6), sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the essential contribution of school counselors to a school system. Every student deserves a school counselor to help with academic achievement strategies, managing emotions, applying interpersonal skills and planning for postsecondary options. Be sure to thank a school counselor this week for everything they do to support their school and students!
