Carolyn Lewis School

The Cane Bay Dance Team is hosting their annual Little Cobra Dance Camp June 22-25, 2026, from 9:00-12:00 pm at Cane Bay High School.

Participants will learn basic dance skills, age-appropriate choreography, and performance etiquette. A performance will be held for family and friends at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Ages: Rising Kindergarten to 7th Grade
Cost: $125.00 per dancer (Includes daily snack, t-shirt, and performance)

Camp payments will be collected at camp check-in on Monday, June 22, 2026. Check-in will run from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Payments may be made via cash or check payable to Cane Bay High School.

Our Loggerhead Leader of the Day is Tyler Amundson! Tyler is a dependable and motivated student who approaches each day with a great attitude. His sense of humor and dedication to learning make him a joy to have at CLS.

Our Loggerhead Leader of the Day for May 12th is Esther Bernardo Macedo Da Rocha!! Esther is a compassionate and hardworking student who leads by example each day. Her positive attitude, kindness toward others, and dedication to doing her best make her a wonderful part of the CLS family.

If you have not grabbed your tickets yet, now is the time. This is a great opportunity to come together as a school community and enjoy a night at the ballpark while supporting our PTA. Five dollars from every ticket goes directly back to support our students and school programs.

Our Loggerhead Leader of the Day for May 6th is Gabriella Hartselle. Gabriella leads with quiet confidence—she is kind, patient, and consistently dedicated to her schoolwork. At the same time, she brings so much joy to CLS through her fun, silly personality and the way she connects with her friends!

We were excited to welcome Charlton Singleton, two-time Grammy Award winner, to Mr. Vanhorn’s Elementary Music program where he visited 3rd–5th grade music classes and the band class and shared an inspiring experience with our students.

During his visit, he talked about the birth of jazz right here in Charleston, the importance of consistent practice, and how dedication and hard work helped shape his journey to becoming a Grammy-winning musician. Students had the opportunity to learn from his story and see how passion for music can grow into something truly impactful.

Our Loggerhead Leader of the Day for TODAY is Carla Reyes Martinez! Carla is respectful, hardworking, and always ready help! We are so proud of the effort, kindness, and enthusiasm she demonstrates each day!

Our Loggerhead Leader of the Day for Thursday, May 7th is Thanh Phu Le! Thanh Phu comes to school ready to learn and eager to grow each day. He stays focused, works diligently, and takes pride in his accomplishments. His determination and perseverance make him a standout student.

Over the last few weeks, our music programs led by Mr. VanHorn, Mr. Beckwith, and Mr. Trauger completed their final local performances of the school year. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and talent of our students and staff who worked so hard to make each performance a success. From chorus to orchestra to band, our students showcased not only their musical abilities, but also their passion, teamwork, and commitment. We are so proud of all they have accomplished this year and cannot wait to see what the future holds for these talented musicians!
