Today’s Loggerhead Leader of the Day is Luis De la Cruz Reyes! Luis consistently gives his very best effort in everything he does. He works incredibly hard, is always helpful in the classroom, and approaches each day with a smile. Luis stays focused on his goals and contributes to such a positive and uplifting classroom environment. We are so proud of the example he sets!

Join us in congratulating our Rookie Teacher of the Year, Ms. Kelly Hodge!

As a new 6th grade teacher, Ms. Hodge has already made a lasting impact. She brings creativity, dedication, and heart into everything she does. Her students know they are supported, challenged, and truly cared for, and her positive energy makes her classroom a special place to learn.

Ms. Hodge doesn’t just show up for her students — she shows up for our entire school community. As the leader of our Sunshine Club, she works behind the scenes to celebrate staff and spread encouragement throughout the building. She is relatable, hardworking, and genuinely loves her job, and it shows every single day. We are so proud to have her as part of our school family.

The Kids Heart Challenge is officially underway! Huge thanks to Coach Whitmore and the American Heart Association for an exciting kickoff focused on fitness, fun, and heart health.

This week we’re celebrating our bus drivers—the first smile of the morning and the last goodbye of the afternoon. Thank you for keeping our students safe, supported, and welcomed every day. Huge thanks to the Carolyn Lewis School PTA for making this appreciation possible!

Leading through actions, not just words — that’s Helena Blandon-Jacobs, our Loggerhead Leader of the Day for Wednesday, February 11th! Helena shows what it means to be focused, respectful, and ready to grow.
