As a new 6th grade teacher, Ms. Hodge has already made a lasting impact. She brings creativity, dedication, and heart into everything she does. Her students know they are supported, challenged, and truly cared for, and her positive energy makes her classroom a special place to learn.

Ms. Hodge doesn’t just show up for her students — she shows up for our entire school community. As the leader of our Sunshine Club, she works behind the scenes to celebrate staff and spread encouragement throughout the building. She is relatable, hardworking, and genuinely loves her job, and it shows every single day. We are so proud to have her as part of our school family.

The Kids Heart Challenge is officially underway! Huge thanks to Coach Whitmore and the American Heart Association for an exciting kickoff focused on fitness, fun, and heart health.

This week we’re celebrating our bus drivers—the first smile of the morning and the last goodbye of the afternoon. Thank you for keeping our students safe, supported, and welcomed every day. Huge thanks to the Carolyn Lewis School PTA for making this appreciation possible!

Let's take a moment to celebrate our Middle School Band and Orchestra students and Mr. Trauger for their incredible dedication and hard work! This year, they’ve earned several accolades, and we want to give them a huge round of applause. We are so proud of your talent, creativity, and passion for music!

We are beyond excited to celebrate this year’s TEACHER OF THE YEAR, Miss Jessica Abangan! Miss Abangan is a shining light on our 6th grade team and in our entire school. She shows up every day with genuine care for her students, unwavering dedication to her work, and a level of professionalism that sets the bar high. Her kindness, encouragement, and constant support make students feel seen, valued, and capable of great things. Miss Abangan’s passion for teaching and the heart she brings into her classroom are felt by everyone around her. She lifts up her teammates, builds strong relationships, and creates a space where students truly thrive. We are so grateful for all that she does and so proud to honor her with this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations, Miss Abangan!

Congratulations to two Teachers of the Year FINALISTS, Crystal Martinez (Kindergarten) and Tabatha Hagwood (MLL). We are incredibly proud of both of these outstanding educators and grateful to have them on our CLS team.

Flashback Friday! Last Friday our Winter Olympics Renaissance Rally brought all teachers and staff together to celebrate our school community, while our After Parties recognized students who go above and beyond through strong academics, positive behavior, and consistent attendance. Last week’s Q2 Rally was an incredible success, with more than 400 students earning After Party Qualifier status. We are so proud of their hard work and continued growth, and we cannot wait to see what Quarter 3 brings!

Today we recognize Evan Salley as our Loggerhead Leader of the Day! Evan is dependable, responsible, and someone others know they can count on.
