8th-grade families who signed up for the PSAT!
The PSAT will be given tomorrow, October 15, 2026. The test will start at 8:30 AM.
Students will need to arrive on time for school, eat breakfast, get plenty of rest, and make sure they bring their Chromebook fully charged, as well as their charger. HAPPY TESTING!

Unity Day is observed each October during National Bullying Prevention Month. It is a time for students, staff, and communities to come together to show that we are united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
The color orange represents the supportive and universal message that we can all work together to prevent bullying and build commUNITY.
On Wednesday, October 21, we encourage everyone to:

The Berkeley County Prevention Board will sponsor the 35th Annual Family Fest: Picnic in the Park as the county's kickoff to Red Ribbon Week! (flyer attached)

Our First Quarter Renaissance Rally is coming on October 22 with the After Party happening on October 23rd, and we’re celebrating with a Superhero theme! Students and Staff will celebrate their achievements, growth, and success from the first quarter. As we prepare for Red Ribbon Week: Real heroes make healthy choices, stand up for what’s right, include others, and choose to be their best! Come ready to celebrate, have fun, and show off your superhero spirit!

If you missed our annual Fall Fest at CLS, it is difficult to put into words the fun, excitement, and sense of community experienced throughout the evening. It was wonderful to see our Loggerhead families, students, staff, and community members connecting, engaging, and enjoying time together. Events such as our Fall Festival provide valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, build community, and create lasting memories beyond the school day.

The School Improvement Council (SIC) is an advisory committee to the principal. It's primary purpose is to assist the principal in the development and monitoring of school improvement and innovation.
By state law, the SIC is composed of at least two parents/guardians elected by the
parents/guardians of the children in the school. Claudie Torrez is our SIC Secretary, and Erin Zubkoff is our Vice Chair. Those two positions are up for re-election. Use this form to nominate someone for the position(s): https://forms.gle/VwWKr5Ld741QGp7t7
We will need to vote for a new Co-Chairperson and Secretary during our next SIC meeting.

It’s time to order our student-designed school T-shirts! This year, we’re making things a little easier by placing all orders online through School Cash.
Here’s what you need to know:
Flyers: A half-sheet flyer will be put in your box to go home with your homeroom students on Friday, October 2. A digital copy will also be sent to parents that day.
Ordering Dates: Monday, October 5 – Friday, October 16. The QR code will only be active during these two weeks.
How to Order: Parents can scan the QR code on the flyer to place their order through School Cash. We strongly encourage online ordering.
Need Another Option? If a family is unable to order online, they may send cash or a check to Carolyn Lewis School along with the student’s shirt size.

STEP Audition Registration is now open!
Berkeley County's Gifted and Talented Arts Program is available to students of Berkeley County Public Schools between the 4th and 12th grade who have auditioned and are identified as gifted/talented in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Once identified, students may attend seven Saturday STEP opportunities at a school throughout the district during the school year and a two-week summer program. Sixth through eighth grade STEP students may also attend Marrington Middle School of the Arts.
To qualify for STEP, students must either audition before a jury composed of fine arts professionals (theatre, music, and dance) or must complete on-site visual arts assignments. In addition, students are given tests that are indicators of potential in the various art disciplines. The jury seeks to identify students with outstanding potential in the arts.

Have you seen our new lawn decorations? We've got some growth worth celebrating! Great job, Loggerheads, for achieving 6.5 percent growth in SC Ready Math last year AND a special shoutout to our fourth graders for seeing a 5 percent jump in their SC Ready Science scores!
