Since this week in National Career Development Week, we want to say thank you to our career specialists - Patreece Copeland, Jessica Galati, Ahja Glaze, Kia Meyers, Jimarra Norwood, Teresa White and Dustin Williams - as well as all our career and technical education teachers. Each one of you helps our students chase their dreams and figure what they want to do with their future everyday.

Mount Holly Elementary and all of us here at BCSD want to say a big thank you to all veterans for their service and commitment to this country. We salute you!

Aren't we lucky to live in a place where we can have an ice cream social - outside - in November? Thank you to everyone who came out to talk to Superintendent Dixon, district officials, and Philip Simmons schools administration at Philip Simmons High last night.

Yesterday, Katherine Clarkson, a music teacher at Sangaree Intermediate, accepted the Berkeley County Sheriff Office's Citizen Service Award. Mrs. Clarkson was nominated for this award by the school's SRO after she saved the life of a student who was choking in the cafeteria by performing the Heimlich maneuver. Way to keep a sharp eye, Mrs. Clarkson!
