Congratulations to William Coker, Andrew Tumbleston, Jayden Middleton, Sam Crocker and Landon Stradcutter on making the roster for the 2023 Touchstone Energy Bowl. The annual contest, formerly known as the North-South game, will be held Dec. 9 at Myrtle Beach High.

Congratulations to Daniel Island School middle schoolers and Philip Simmons Elementary for being October's i-Ready Super Schools! This month's schools were selected because they had the highest percentage of passed i-Ready reading lessons.





Stop, drop and hold! Along with schools across the nation, Macedonia Middle practiced earthquake drills for the "Great American ShakeOut!"

There will be two alternative certification info sessions for prospective teachers. The first session will be held virtually on October 18 at 6 p.m., and the second will be on November 1 at 4:30 p.m. at our main office in Moncks Corner.

Over the weekend, Stratford High's marching band made school history during its first appearance at the Bands of America Regional Championship. Competing against 23 bands from three different states, the Marching Knights advanced to the Finals and placed eighth. Go band! #makingpositivedifference #ICYMI #bandkids #marchingband

Two Howe Hall AIMS teachers, Jennifer Dragotta and Maria Earl, were awarded the Ray Doughty Arts Integration Award. This award honors individuals who embody the true spirit of arts integration through the successful utilization of community partnerships and resources. Awesome job, ladies!

We had a great turnout for our YMCA membership sign-up event! Don't worry, if you're a BCSD employee who wasn't able to make it last night, you can activate your free membership at the Cane Bay Family YMCA or Berkeley County Family YMCA with your district ID badge.

To better serve the physical and mental wellbeing of those who work for BCSD, the YMCA has partnered with the school district to provide FREE memberships to BCSD employees.

Cane Bay High's stadium was rocking as bands from Timberland High, Philip Simmons High, Hanahan High, Goose Creek High, Cane Bay High and Stratford High came together to perform and cheer each other on at this year's Cobra Classic.





This month, going slow and steady wins our i-Ready Super School competition! Howe Hall AIMS and Marrington Middle School of the Arts are our first i-Ready Super Schools of the 2023-2024 school year for getting the highest completion rates on their i-Ready tests and the fewest rush flags. #makingapositivedifference
