Our garden OFFCIALLY has a name: WAVES & WONDER GARDEN! Students kicked off the day by clearing rocks and litter while a volunteer began assembling garden boxes—this space is starting to come to life! Now that we have a name, students can enter a design contest for our official garden sign to be featured at the entrance!

We are SO PROUD our incredible Carolyn Lewis School students and staff who took on OBUG in Berkeley County last week! They showed up, stood out, and represented CLS in the BEST way possible—bringing energy, creativity, and next-level fun all day long!

Shoutout to Everleigh Caddell for being named our Loggerhead Leader of the Day! She consistently displays excellence, kindness, and positivity—We’re proud of you!

Ms. Murphy’s class diving deep into history and critical thinking! Students analyzed and annotated the address to the nation delivered by Ronald Reagan following the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. Through active reading strategies and thoughtful textual analysis, they unpacked powerful language, tone, and meaning behind this pivotal moment in history.

Lights. Camera. GAME ON. Game & Movie Night was a huge success — full of fun, laughter, and great memories! Huge thank you to our CLS PTA and our amazing teachers who volunteered their time to make it all possible. We appreciate you!

FUN FACT ALERT! Mr. Fowler is featured as a local author at SCASL (South Carolina Association of School Librarians )- what an incredible honor to have such talent in our CLS family! Ms. Young had the opportunity to meet one of her all-time favorite historical fiction authors, Ruta Sepetys! And yes… you can find her books right here in the CLS library! Meanwhile, Ms. Rodriguez is holding down the fort in the CLS Media Center and keeping everything running strong in their absence!

Family Movie and Game Night will take place TOMORROW, March 20 from 5:00–7:00 PM. Join us for a family-friendly movie in the gym beginning at 5:15 PM, along with game stations in the cafeteria. Free snacks will be available while supplies last, and Bingo will begin at 5:30 PM. Bingo cards are $1 and daubers are $2.

SUPERIOR SOUNDS FROM OUR LOGGERHEAD CHORALE! Our incredible Loggerhead Chorale earned a SUPERIOR rating at today’s performance assessment — the “state test” of the music world! This evaluation measures music literacy, artistry, and professionalism, and a Superior means scoring an outstanding 90–99 average — an elite accomplishment! We are beyond proud of our talented students for delivering excellence on every note, and grateful for Mr. Beckwith’s leadership, passion, and dedication that continues to elevate our program. CLS music programs are THRIVING!

NEXT LEVEL ALERT!!! 7th grader Jackson Garrett just did THAT! 2nd Chair in All-State Band — ELITE status! Earned a spot in the All-State Orchestra — are you kidding?! And took it to the next level attending clinics at Furman University — learning, growing, and performing alongside the BEST of the best! This is talent, dedication, and HARD WORK on full display!
