With the support of Santee Cooper, some awesome STEAM lessons are brewing in Berkeley County School District classrooms.

BCSD is excited to recognize all of its teachers and staff members who landed STEAM grants from Santee Cooper. This year, there were 20 grants awarded.

Every year Santee Cooper accepts applications for STEAM grants; any employee in the district who works directly with students to encourage and support innovative STEAM-related activities can apply. Teachers can receive individual grants worth up to $2,500, or team up to receive up to $5,000. All grade levels and content areas were eligible to apply at the beginning of the school year.

To building wildlife habitats to lessons in entrepreneurship, BCSD teachers have some hands-on assignments in the works this school year.
