Berkeley County School District's Board of Education made two new leadership appointments during the Aug. 17 board meeting.
Raley Ishmael has been named the district's new Director of OSHA Safety. He brings more than 20 years of experience in OSHA compliance, workers’ compensation support, industrial hygiene, incident investigation and safety program development. He most recently served as a Safety Specialist III for Santee Cooper's Occupational Safety Department.


Byron Graham will join Midtown Middle as an assistant principal. Graham has more than 15 years of service in K-12 education, including school administration, instructional leadership, mathematics education, and student support. He most recently served as a math teacher and math department head at Baptist Hill High in Hollywood, S.C.


Both employees' contracts will begin Sept. 8. Congratulations to these leaders as they begin their new roles serving Berkeley County School District students, families, and staff.
