District officers and school administrators have been hard at work this week prepping for the 2026-2027 school year.
Each year, as summer starts winding down, Berkeley County School District leaders come together for a multi-day professional development event known as Summer Leadership. It features networking, workshops, and school leadership updates to align district goals prior to the new academic year. District cabinet members and directors lead sessions to help school teams navigate the upcoming school year. Administrators had the opportunity to collaborate and bounce ideas off of one another, and break into smaller groups to plan for the students' return.
The first day of the event was held at Trident Technical College while Tuesday and Wednesday's gatherings were organized at Westview Middle/Elementary.
BCSD welcomes back students on Aug. 12.
