Berkeley County School District is excited to recognize its eight schools that have been named Silver, Gold or Platinum Schools of Distinction by Jostens Renaissance for the 2026 school year.
These are eight out of a total of 182 Schools of Distinction across the nation, including 19 from South Carolina.
The Jostens Renaissance School of Distinction recognition was created to celebrate schools that are making a positive impact on school climate and culture through executing the Renaissance Results Formula.
The formula covers the six R’s of Renaissance: school Renaissance groups are encouraged to identify the values they respect, and then recognize and reward actions they want to see occur in their schools. They are further encouraged to reinforce their values through traditions and words, while looking for ways to create strong relationships. All of this drives results.
Silver Schools of Distinction completed a minimum of one school climate and culture boosting activity a month from the Jostens Renaissance Monthly Playbook and gathered and tracked the data of one goal.
Gold Schools of Distinction completed two Commitment to Graduate initiatives, recognized students and staffulty, collected feedback from their school community, improved their school look, and gathered and tracked the data of three goals.
Platinum Schools of Distinction completed three Commitment to Graduate initiatives, recognized students and staffulty, recognized and rewarded achievement and growth through Renaissance Cards and a Renaissance Rally, collected feedback from students, improved their school look, gathered and tracked the data of three goals and networked with other schools. Platinum is the most prestigious award given to campuses and is only available to previous Schools of Distinction.
