Timberland High School recognized its JROTC Drone Team during a ring ceremony on April 29, honoring the cadets for their achievement as Southeast Regional Champions. VIEW PHOTOS
Competing against 45 teams from 10 states, the team’s championship season reflects months of dedication, discipline and teamwork. During the ceremony, cadets were presented with championship rings to commemorate their success and the standard they have set for the program.
THS's drone team competes in the Aerial Drone Competition, where students code autonomous flight paths, maintain engineering logbooks and participate in judged interviews. These experiences help develop critical STEM skills, including problem-solving, communication and teamwork.
This recognition not only celebrates a championship season but also the continued growth of a program that represents Timberland High School and Berkeley County School District with excellence. The team will compete nationally in May against the top JROTC programs in the country.
This is not the end of their story—just the next step as they prepare to compete on the national stage.
