Of all the annual events held in Berkeley County School District, the Turnaround Achievement Award ceremony is pretty much guaranteed to be a tear-jerker – but in the best of ways.
BCSD is proud to recognize its 30 students who have previously experienced hardships, both at home and at school, and have made tremendous efforts to get back on track and literally “turn it around”.
These students were joined by parents and school administrators at Westview Middle on April 2 to participate in a special awards ceremony organized by the district. Students were honored with plaques and gift bags presented by Katie Tanner, Chief Strategy & Engagement Officer, and distributed by Superintendent Dr. Anthony S. Dixon during a luncheon provided by BCSD’s Child Nutrition Services. VIEW PHOTOS.
