Berkeley County School District is thrilled to recognize the choral programs listed below for their achievements during the SCMEA Choral Performance Assessment, which took place March 17-20.

Numerous schools from around the region participated in the assessment, held at Summer’s Corner Performing Arts Center (middle schools) and West Ashley High School (high schools). Twenty-one ensembles from 11 BCSD schools participated. Of the 21 ensembles, seven in BCSD garnered the highest rating possible at the event — a Superior with Distinction. This rating means that each judge (the three performance judges and the sight‑reading judge) scored the choirs 90 out of 100 or higher. In addition, eight ensembles received Superior ratings (average score of 90–100), and five received Excellent ratings (average score 80–89).

Please join us in congratulating these schools, their respective teachers, and especially the students for their hard work and dedication in preparing for this event. They all contribute to Berkeley County’s history and reputation of excellence in the performing arts.
