What is one thing that can make a Family Reading Night even better?

Probably adding some s'mores and a visit from Santa Claus!

Cainhoy Elementary had a great turnout by families at the school's holiday-themed Title I Family Reading Night on Dec. 16. In addition to dinner and participating in a hands-on reading activities, students enjoyed roasting marshmallows outside to make s'mores, plus a visit from Santa Claus in the school library (thanks to Daniel Island Rotary Club). Students were also given books to take home and had a great time frolicking in fake snow out in the courtyard.

The evening wrapped up with musical performances by the different grade levels singing Christmas carols.
