renderings of new school buildings

Berkeley County School District’s Board of Education has approved changes to the school attendance lines. These changes will be in effect for the 2026-2027 school year, when the district opens up the new Bee Tree Elementary and Midtown Middle schools.

The board approved Option F, with some clarifications: the attendance boundaries for Carolyn Lewis School will follow the initial proposal, with Berkeley Commons and the 2nd Avenue area east of 17A attending Devon Forest Elementary, College Park Middle and Stratford High, as reflected in Option B.

Also, Option H will be applied for middle school and high school assignments for the Wildcat tract, using Fairwinds Boulevard as the divider.

The administration is authorized to establish a grandfathering provision and sibling clause permitting students enrolled as of December 15 at impacted schools to remain in their current school zones, provided they furnish their own transportation and have siblings concurrently enrolled at the same school. More information regarding the grandfathering procedure is forthcoming.
