Berkeley County School District (BCSD) is pleased to report continued academic growth and success reflected in the 2024–2025 South Carolina School Report Card ratings. No BCSD schools received an unsatisfactory rating, demonstrating the district’s ongoing commitment to student achievement.

The South Carolina Department of Education and South Carolina Education Oversight Committee unveiled the 2025 South Carolina School Report Cards on Nov. 3, which provide information about each school and district, including test performance, teacher qualifications, student safety, awards, parent involvement and much more. Results show that BCSD continues to make progress to ensure all students are set up for success upon leaving high school.

Data pulled from the report cards show that 87.5 percent of all elementary and 85.7 percent of all middle schools achieved a rating of Average, Good or Excellent.

Additionally, all high schools scored an Average, Good or Excellent rating, and all high school ratings increased or were maintained. The district also experienced a 1.9 percent increase in graduation rates to an overall 86.2 percent.

BCSD noted a continued decline in the number of schools rated Unsatisfactory or Below Average, reflecting steady progress across all grade levels.

Berkeley County schools also demonstrated notable gains in college and career readiness, with longitudinal data showing an increase from 62 percent to 65.6 percent over the past year. The district also saw a decrease in chronic absenteeism, improving from 24.6 percent to 23.9 percent.

Superintendent Dr. Anthony S. Dixon attributed this year’s results to the district’s unified focus on teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.

“This success is not an accident or a coincidence, it is a direct result of the intentional work by our students, teachers and leaders,” he said. “We’ve invested in professional learning and strengthened our instructional practices, and we are building a culture where every student is expected and supported to succeed. Our students, teachers and principals have worked hard, and our parents have supported our focus. These report cards are direct evidence that all of those efforts are paying off.”
