Some cold rain did not “scare” off these potential hires…

Despite the gloomy weather on Tuesday, Berkeley County School District had a great turnout for its Spooktacular Hiring Event.

BCSD hosts a recruitment event every fall semester to help connect job-seekers to career opportunities in the district. BCSD pulled out all the stops for this year’s fall festival-themed occasion. In addition to music provided by Full Code Entertainment, Berkeley High and Timberland High drumline students entertained the crowd with a friendly drum-off competition, during which Timberland High ultimately came out on top as best overall performer.

School administrative teams and district departments set up booths trunk-or-treat style to help connect job-seekers to career opportunities in the district; this year the district was particularly looking to fill a lot of non-teaching positions, such as clerical staff, custodians, bus drivers, maintenance staff and more. BCSD’s fall hiring event is always a time for schools and district staff to come together and collaborate to make something unique and engaging for job seekers to visit. Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon said he loves that the event is always a good time for that networking.

“I love that they are a balance of fun, creativity and are focused on hiring highly-qualified individuals that have a passion to work in our school system, or work with our students directly, and they’re committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students,” Dixon said.
