Berkeley County School District is excited to recognize the following football coaches and students who were named to the 2025 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl, as well as the 2025 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

The Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl is an all-star football game that began in 1947 as part of the state coaches clinic in Columbia. The game was eventually brought to the Grand Strand. During the last 20 years, the game has grown to be one of the premier high school all-star games in the county. The state's top senior football players are selected to participate in this event. The game will be held Dec. 13 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.

The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas is an annual high school all-star football game run by Shriners to raise money for Shriners Children's hospitals. It is a charity event while showcasing some of the very best high school football players in the Carolinas. The game will be held Dec. 20 at Spartanburg High.

Assistant Coach Jason Winstead – Goose Creek High

Coach Winstead has coached high school football for 29 years. He has been at Goose Creek High since 2018. The Gators have won or shared five Region Championships since 2018. In this time, 48 players have moved on to the next level. Prior to that, Coach Winstead was the Defensive Coordinator at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill. During his 7 seasons there, the Stallions won five State Championships. He has also coached at Rock Hill High School, Laurens District 55 High School and D.W. Daniel High School.

Assistant Coach Eric Bendig – Philip Simmons High

Head Football Coach Eric Bendig, now in his ninth year at the school and the very first coach ever hired, has built a strong legacy with a record of 50-31 and two region titles in eight years of varsity football. Since 2021, his team has maintained one of the best winning percentages in the state and the highest in Berkeley County, reflecting the program’s consistent excellence and leadership. Coach Bendig’s selection to lead the North-South All-Star Game in South Carolina is a testament to the Philip Simmons community and its talented, dedicated players, as well as his respected status among the region’s top coaches. His commitment to the sport and his players continues to shape the future of high school football.

Braedyn Reaves – Goose Creek High

Braedyn is a Senior Captain on his school’s team. He carries a 3.0 GPA and is a student leader at Goose Creek Highs. He plays both defensive end and tight end. He also long snaps. Coaching staff said these skills combined made him an easy selection to participate in the 2025 Touchstone Energy North/South All-Star Game.

Michael Bennett – Cross High

Michael Bennett has been a three-year starter for Cross High on offense and defense. On offense, he plays right guard, and on defense he plays defensive end. Bennett is a two-time All-State selection and first team All-Region player.

C.J. Falotico – Philip Simmons High

Kicker C.J. Faloticio is a record-setting standout for Philip Simmons High. By the time he graduates, C.J. will hold all of the school’s all-time kicking records. He will handle both kicking and punting duties for the South team. Known for his hard work, intelligence, and dedication, coaching staff members say C.J. exemplifies the qualities of a true student-athlete.

Assistant Coach –Lee Taylor – Goose Creek High

Coach Lee Taylor is entering his second year at Goose Creek High with 36 years of coaching experience. Coach Taylor has dedicated 14 years as a Head Coach, shaping athletes both on and off the field. His extensive leadership background also includes 10 years as an Athletic Director and 20 years as an Assistant Athletic Director, allowing him to foster a strong athletic program in every capacity.

Caden Ramsey – Cross High

Caden Ramsey has been a four-year starter for Cross High on offense and defense. On offense he plays wide receiver and on defense he plays free safety. Ramsey is a two-time All-State selection and first team All-Region player. He was also Region Player of the year for the 2024 Football season.

Gehad Sneed – Berkeley High

Senior Gehad Sneed’s coaches will say his selection to the Shrine Bowl is well earned. The selection recognizes Sneed's exceptional performance, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field. Through his unwavering commitment to excellence and tireless work ethic, Sneed has distinguished himself among the state's top football talents. During his football career at Berkeley High School as a three-year starter at linebacker for the varsity football program. He has totaled 78 solo tackles, 47 assisted tackles, four sacks, 13 quarterback pressures, nine pass break ups, one interception, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick throughout his career.

Jachin Davis – Stratford High

Jachin Davis has been the Stratford Knights’ starting quarterback for four years. In that time, he has passed for more than 4000 yards and rushed for more than 2000. Davis has accounted for almost 85 percent of Stratford's touchdowns in the time that he has played. He has also been named to the All-State team and been named the Region Player of the year During his time at Stratford. He will be attending Liberty University to continue his athletic and academic career.

Desmond Green – Timberland High

Desmond Green has been a four-year starter for Timberland on offense and defense. On offense, he plays offensive line and on defense he plays defensive tackle. Green is a four-time All-State selection and first team All-Region player every year. He was also named Region Offensive Lineman of the Year for the past two football seasons. He is rated one of the top offensive lineman in the country and one of the top players in the state. Coaching staff said Green is super talented on the field, but what stands out the most is how humble he is while sporting over a 4.0 GPA. He is committed to the University of Florida.
