College Park Elementary's students definitely have a rhythm -- and so do the teachers! On Feb. 23, the whole school welcomed Orisirisi, an African folklore group that introduced students to the African art of music and storytelling as part of Black History Month.

BCSD MLK Jr. Luncheon 2026
With January being Martin Luther King, Jr.’s month of birth, the BCSD Division of Student Support Services hosted a special Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon event on Jan. 16. Lunch was provided by the district’s Child Nutrition Staff at Cypress Gardens, with BCSD employees and prominent community members present.

BCSD recognizes its 2026 Teachers of the Year
All of BCSD's Teachers of the Year were recognized during the Monday, March 2, 2026 meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education. The formal recognition from the Board happens yearly each spring, preceding several events meant to honor their contributions to the children and families of BCSD.

We had a fantastic time at our recent 1920s -themed hiring event! Job seekers and employers came together at Stratford High to jazz it up and enjoy a day filled with excitement, laughter, and networking. The atmosphere was vibrant and engaging, quite the hullabaloo.
BCSD Conference Day 2026
BCSD’s annual Conference Day event is one big professional development day, organized by the district’s Office of Curriculum and Instruction. Teachers and staff participate in sessions, structured as classes, to learn new, unique and innovative ways to better promote teaching and learning in their classrooms.
