We consider ourselves lucky to serve the best students in South Carolina by providing them with state-of-the-art facilities and a high-quality education. In fall of 2026, a fully renovated Hanahan Middle School will open its doors to students.
BCSD Recognizes Teachers of the Year
All of BCSD's Teachers of the Year were recognized during the Monday, March 3, 2025 meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education. The formal recognition from the Board happens yearly each spring, preceding several events meant to honor their contributions to the children and families of BCSD.

WVE Trunk-or-Treat
Dressed in their Halloween best, families flocked to Westview Elementary for the school's Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 30.

District and construction officials gathered on July 24 to "top off" the new Hanahan Middle building.

BCSD Conference Day 2025
Teachers spent the day attending a series of workshops and classroom sessions to receive tools and resources to better lead their classrooms and set their students up for success.
Jedburg Elementary School Groundbreaking
On October 9, Berkeley County School District broke ground on a new elementary school on Black Tom Road. School board members, elected officials and BCSD chief officers were all in attendance to witness this historic event.
Big Top Recruitment Event
BCSD hosted its homecoming-themed fall hiring event on Nov. 21. There were festive decorations, food trucks, children's activities and a "halftime show" performed by BHS and THS drumline students.
