Varsity Head Coach
Coach Ada Samonte has been the Head Cheerleading Coach for Hanahan High School since 2018. In the past 8 seasons, her competitive team has qualified for State 5 times and finished in the top 10 in the 3A division 4 times. The cheer squads have earned many superior ribbons and first-place trophies every year they have attended UCA camp, including the camp’s top award, Leadership, in 2022 and 2023. Several of her athletes have been named All-American cheerleaders and have been invited to perform at Disney, Hawaii, and London. Several have been awarded cheer college scholarships and gone on to cheer at the college level. She is engaged to Jerry Viita and has three grown children, Andrea Escobedo (Adrian), Elizabeth Barbee, and Patrick Barbee (Madi), and three grandchildren, Alexis, Charlie, and Clementine.
