Varsity Head Coach
Coach Strickler has been at Hanahan High since 2022, teaching physical education and coaching the cheer team. Originally from Apex, North Carolina, she received her bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and her master’s degree in physical and health education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She began her teaching career in Apex, where she taught elementary physical education for 1.5 years before moving to Charleston for a change of scenery. Coach Strickler cheered for 15 years, both competitively and at her respective middle and high schools. She then went to cheer at the collegiate level at North Carolina State University. Throughout her time as a cheerleader, she won several county championships, a conference championship, a high school state championship in 2014, and a national title at the collegiate level in the game day division in 2018. Coach Strickler’s family still resides in NC, but comes down several times a year to visit and plans to move to Charleston when her dad retires.
