BCSD transitions to virtual operations today, August 9
Due to unexpected flash flooding resulting in numerous road closures and impassable road conditions, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools and offices will transition to virtual operations Friday, August 9.
All extracurricular activities, athletics, and school programs are currently suspended Friday, August 9. BCSD leaders urge staff to stay off of the roads.
In collaboration with county and municipal leaders, BCSD will reassess conditions Friday and throughout the weekend and provide updates, as appropriate, concerning potential access to schools and offices.

To ensure a smooth start for the upcoming school year, Berkeley County School District requires all parents/legal guardians of returning students to complete an Online Returning Student Registration through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Completing this process ensures that your student will receive his/her class placement.
This mandatory process includes providing two proofs of residency and is essential for reviewing and updating contact information, submitting required annual forms, and providing transportation details. If you have trouble uploading the documents you may bring them to the school.
Families needing assistance creating a PowerSchool Parent Portal account or have forgotten their username or password should contact the school at 843-899-5100.
For those without internet access or unable to register online, don't hesitate to contact the school to arrange a date and time to complete the registration in-person.
ATTENTION: Mark your calendars for July 8th! This is when Extended Day (formerly Cobra Care) registration will open!

As a way of continuing to promote child nutrition and adding to the many celebrations capping the end of the school year, Berkeley County School District’s Office of Child Nutrition Services will launch a special giveaway next week (May 20–24) that will offer some big prizes.
Elementary, middle and high school students eating lunch and/or breakfast next week will be entered into a drawing for prizes that include, but are not limited to:
*iPads
*Wireless earbuds/headphones
*Underwater cameras
*Projectors
*Action cameras
*Bluetooth speakers
Students will receive one entry into the drawing for each meal they eat. Winners will be drawn at random, and those who eat multiple meals will obviously have an increased chance of winning.

Spring has sprung! BCSD Spring Break runs April 1-5. All students return to school on April 8.
The 2024-25 online student registration will be available for new students starting Tuesday, April 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM and for returning students starting Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
