
BCSD schools and offices will re-open and resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 27.

Due to concerns about icy conditions and the ongoing impact of inclement weather, Berkeley County School District students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, January 24. In response to ongoing forecasts for wintry weather, to include the potential for snow, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) announced that schools will follow the half-day dismissal bell schedule on Tuesday, January 21. Students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Wednesday, January 22. All schools and offices will be closed Wednesday.

Berkeley Elementary is pleased to welcome Ms. Ruth Butka as our new principal!
Parents, students, and community members are invited to a Drop In Meet and Greet with Ms. Butka on Thursday, January 16th from 5pm-6pm in the Media Center.

Last Thursday we had our Winter Chorus Concert - these kids worked hard and did a fantastic job! Way to go students and Ms. Racioppo!!

BES had a few visitors last week! An elf stopped by to help pass out some goodies and then the Grinch showed up and took our front lobby tree!! We tried to stop him but he was too quick.




We are excited for our December Spirit Week next week!!

Last Friday students enjoyed their first Renaissance Rally of the school year! Students were able to participate in some challenges like stack the cup and eating a fruit roll up with no hands! Some staff even joined in with some line dancing!











Staff ended their Underground Spirit Week with some holiday confusion. Staff wore Christmas attire and challenged each other to a rock, paper, scissors battle! (The students were not happy we skipped Halloween! ) Congratulations to Ms. Artis for winning our rock, paper, scissor battle!

As part of last week's Underground Spirit Week staff had fun keeping the students guessing with what wacky thing would happen next! Mixed match clothing? Socks and sandals? Drinking out of a random object??

Things have been a little wacky this week at BES! Staff participated in Underground Spirit Week - we kicked off the week being sneaky ninjas! Staff had to sneak ninjas off of each others doors. Ms. York was our winner, with the most ninjas on her door at the end of the day!
