  • BCSD SAFE RETURN TO IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION AND CONTINUITY OF SERVICES PLAN (AUGUST 2021)

    This plan describes how Berkeley County School District will provide a safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services for all schools, including those that have already returned to in person instruction. This report template complies with all reporting requirements of the ARP Act (Public Law 117-2), the ESSER III grant terms, conditions, and assurances (CFDA Number 84.425U), and the interim final rule established by the United States Department of Education, 86 FR 21195.

  • ESSER III Funding & Community Survey

    On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan (ARC) was signed into law. The US Department of Education is providing an additional $122 Billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III) for providing local educational agencies with emergency relief funds to address the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had and continues to have on elementary and secondary schools.

  • FREE/REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS ENCOURAGED, DESPITE 2021-2022 FREE MEAL EXTENSION

    While all students will receive free meals at school cafeterias for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year, those students who may have qualified for free and reduced lunch are still encouraged to apply.

    Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Transportation

  • Bus Delay Information

    The department of student transportation is charged with providing transportation service for 22,500+ BCSD students. Most buses in BCSD provide service to three bus routes, one for each grade level (elementary, middle, and high).

    We ask that school bus service be reserved for those families who truly have no other option for transporting their children to school. In addition, arrival times for buses are approximate and should be used as a guide only.
