Coach Rhoades enters his 14th year teaching and coaching at Timberland HS.  He spent the first nine years coaching football and wrestling, but the last five years has focused exclusively on coaching wrestling.

 Since starting at THS, he has had six individual State Champions and his team has wrestled in five Lower State Championships (2017, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2024).  In 2022, his team won the Lower State Championship but finished as Runner-Up in the A/AA State Championship match. 

 Coah Rhoades's professional goal as a coach is to get back to the Team State Championship match and win a Team State Title.  His overall passion as the wrestling coach is seeing the improvement in his wrestlers from week to week, month to month, and year to year – and witnessing this positive development as young student-athletes learn what it takes to be successful.  He is especially flattered when his former wrestlers come back to help as volunteer coaches. 

 This year Coach Rhoades has been fortunate to have excellent coaching help, and he looks forward to seeing what this team is capable of achieving during the playoffs.  Every year has its own unique challenges, and he enjoys finding different ways of teaching and motivating student-athletes.
