Hello, SFM Families and Guardians. The Sedgefield 7 were honored this evening, and it was an incredible experience for our scholars. I am extremely proud of these students, they work hard each day and truly deserve the recognition they received tonight. I would like to challenge our school and community to double this number next year. Together, we can continue to elevate excellence and expand opportunities for our scholars. 🎉 Congratulations to our outstanding Sedgefield Middle School Junior Scholars! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of these students for their exceptional performance on the PSAT! Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence have truly paid off.

The South Carolina Junior Scholars Program recognizes academically talented eighth-grade students across the state. To earn this distinction, students must score 550 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing portion of the PSAT/NMSQT or 530 or higher on the Mathematics portion—an impressive achievement!

Your success reflects not only your determination, but also the support of your teachers, families, and school community. Keep striving, keep learning, and keep reaching for excellence—we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next!

Spring Soccer Shark hour!

To support student success, Sedgefield Middle School is implementing Content Recovery for students who did not meet passing requirements during Quarter 3. If your child has been assigned to Content Recovery, it means they will have an opportunity to revisit and master key skills from the first quarter in a specific subject area. Upon successful completion of all required work, students can earn a final grade of 60% for Quarter 3 (per district policy). Grades higher than 60% cannot be awarded through this process.

How It Works:

-Students will receive customized assignments based on their areas of need.

-All assigned work must be completed in full to receive credit.

-Teachers will review submissions and return any incomplete or incorrect work for revision.

-Once all work is approved, grades will be updated in PowerSchool, and parents/guardians will be notified.

Important Deadline:

-All Quarter 3 Content Recovery assignments must be submitted by May 20, 2026.

-Late submissions will not be accepted.

We encourage families to support their students by checking in on progress and ensuring assignments are completed on time. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact your child’s teacher directly. Together, we can help every student reach success!

Hello SFM Families and Guardians, I hope you and your family had a restful and peaceful Spring Break. As we welcome our students back, please continue to encourage strong study habits and consistent preparation as we approach high-stakes testing in May. I would also like to emphasize the importance of adhering to the district's cell phone and smartwatch policy. Devices should be turned off and kept in students’ book bags during the school day, unless there is a documented health-related need. We look forward to welcoming our wonderful students back tomorrow. Warm regards, Dr. C

I would like to take a moment to recognize the Coldest Assistant Principals (AP) during AP Week. They work tirelessly to strengthen our school’s instructional environment, refine our policies and procedures, and enhance our overall school climate. Their dedication and commitment are essential to achieving our goals, and I truly value the impact they make each day. They consistently show care and support for both our students and staff, always stepping in wherever needed to ensure our school community thrives. Here’s to my “three the hard way”—Mr. McFadden, Mr. Childers, and Mrs. Fox. Thank you for all that you do! 👊🏽 Enjoy the AI photo we took during our dress down week!
