Sedgefield Friends and Families,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news and are also very excited to partner with you to make this happen!

Sedgefield Middle School is now in the process of collecting donations to join the City of Goose Creek in their "Adopt A Goose Program"! The goal of this project is to showcase Sedgefield's inclusion in the community and establish relationships with local businesses.

Our objective is to raise at least $2,500 to pay for the base cost of the goose, as well as the additional fee required to customize our goose to become a coveted Sedgefield Shark Goose. We intend for it to become a symbol of school and neighborhood pride!

Any potential extra donations for this project will be given to our school's Renaissance Program-- an initiative that is built around spreading positivity amongst our school community.

Friends, family, business owners, and loved ones from afar are all invited to participate in reaching this amazing goal!

Cash or check donations may be made directly to the school via mail or in person at:
131 Charles B. Gibson Blvd.
Goose Creek, SC 29445

***Please make all checks payable to "SFM Renaissance" with a note: "SFM Goose." Also, include a phone number in case of any issues.

We can't wait to have you help us share the news with others and work together to make Sedgefield Middle School a proud symbol of our community!

📚✨ Successful Title I Family Night! ✨📚

We had a fantastic turnout at our Title I Parent Meeting! Families came together to learn hands-on strategies for supporting math learning at home. Parents received math manipulatives and training on how to use them to make math fun and meaningful for their children. 🧮💡

Thank you to all the families who joined us for an evening of partnership! Together, we’re building a strong foundation for student success. Specially shout out to Ms. Murchie for her amazing work!

Quarter 1 Content Recovery
To support student success, Sedgefield Middle School is implementing Content Recovery for students who did not meet passing requirements during Quarter 1. If your child has been assigned to Content Recovery, it means they will have an opportunity to revisit and master key skills from the first quarter in a specific subject area. This process helps ensure that all students have a fair chance to succeed and stay on track academically.

What is Content Recovery?
Content Recovery allows students to complete targeted assignments that review essential skills and standards from the grading period. Upon successful completion of all required work, students can earn a final grade of 60% for Quarter 1 (per district policy). Grades higher than 60% cannot be awarded through this process.

How It Works:

  • Students will receive customized assignments based on their areas of need.

  • All assigned work must be completed in full to receive credit.

  • Teachers will review submissions and return any incomplete or incorrect work for revision.

  • Once all work is approved, grades will be updated in PowerSchool, and parents/guardians will be notified.

Important Deadline:

  • All Quarter 1 Content Recovery assignments must be submitted by December 12, 2025.

  • Late submissions will not be accepted.

We encourage families to support their students by checking in on progress and ensuring assignments are completed on time. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact your child’s teacher directly.

Together, we can help every student reach success!

Sedgefield Middle School Family,

Let the competitions begin between each of our 47 schools and District Office Staff! We’re excited to see who will head our leaderboard for the 2025 Fall Teacher Forum Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser! Last year Goose Creek High earned bragging rights for raising $803. Second place on the leaderboard was Foxbank Elementary earning $605 (ALSO a first-place finisher 2 years ago in 2023!) And third place went to Berkeley Elementary for earning $501. We are thrilled that the District Office will be competing this year! ALL proceeds will be used to fund student scholarships. Last year we raised $3000 and this year we’d love to DOUBLE our DOUBLEGOOD!!
We’re excited to announce that Sedgefield Middle School is participating in a Double Good popcorn fundraiser with the BCSD Teacher Forum to raise money for student scholarships.
