The teacher of the quarter is our Auto Tech teacher and a member of the HHS Class of 2011 DJ VanMaanen. Our staff of the quarter is our Head Custodian Ms. Kenyanna Holmes. We've got some accomplished kids in BCSD! Last night, Stratford High's JROTC archery team, Hanahan High's "Hawk's Eye View" and Nina Nassyrov from Philip Simmons Middle were recognized by our school board for their competition wins on the state and national level.

Spring has sprung! We hope all our students have a safe and fun spring break! Students will return to school April 21.

The No Hate Tour stuck the landing at Goose Creek High and Hanahan High! These BMX stars wowed students with their high-energy bike tricks while also delivering an impactful anti-bullying message.

HHS HOSA had a great time at the State Leadership Conference last week, with several students placing! Layla Lematty and Belinda Reyes placed in the top 5 for Mental Health Promotion Kelsey Grosskopf placed in the top 5 for Nursing Assisting Lindsey Newman placed 3rd in Nursing Assisting And last, but certainly not least… Audrianna Amara campaigned and was voted as our new state Secretary by her HOSA peers. This representation at the state level is huge for us at Hanahan and even in the Lowcountry. HHS could not be more proud of ALL of the 34 students who competed this year! Also, congratulations to our own Mrs. Byrne for getting the "Extra Miler" award at the conference presented by SC HOSA! #itsagreatdaytobeahawk

The BCSD Student, Teacher, and Parent Climate Surveys window opened on Monday March 3rd and will close Friday March 21st. All students in grades 3-12 and all teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, ROTC instructors, career specialists, and speech therapists are expected to participate in the survey. Congratulations to our Luke Woodall for qualifying for this year's 2025 South Carolina All State Orchestra on Tuba! He will travel to Spartanburg next week where he will represent Hanahan among the best orchestral students from around the state.
