At this week's BCSD Board of Education meeting, Hawk's Eye View was recognized for winning Best High School Newscast in the Southeast from the National Academy for Screen Arts and Sciences. NATAS is the same governing entity over the annual Emmy Awards, so this is considered to be a student-equivalent of an Emmy Award. The show's fall 2025 Media Tech 3 & 4 students won the award for their 2025 Homecoming Preview episode.

WOW! Students in our Take the Lead mentoring program raised $6,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Charleston, which is TRIPLE the amount they donated last year. Kudos to all our mentees on this incredible achievement —especially those from Cane Bay High, who donated the most to this special cause.

The Hawks showed their strength, but in the end couldn't pin down West-Oak. Regardless of the outcome, they still made us and the Hanahan community proud this season. They finished the year as the Lower State Champions and State Runner-Up.
