Three…two…one...BLAST OFF! Berkeley County School District is excited to announce the launch of our district’s reading challenge – Berkeley Book Blast: Igniting a Love for Reading! We are taking our literacy skills to new heights as we set the ambitious goal to read three million minutes as a school district by the end of the school year.

This challenge is open to all BCSD students, faculty and staff! We'll use Beanstack, an interactive reading platform to track our reading time, keep up with our progress, and earn out of this world badges. The elementary school, middle school and high school with the most reading minutes will win district-wide bragging rights and a traveling trophy at the end of each school quarter.

Students can log their reading time via the Beanstack button in Classlink on their district Chromebook. If you have a younger student and would like to log their reading time for them, then you can download the Beanstack mobile app.

Mobile app student/parent login instructions were included in an email directly sent to BCSD parents and guardians on Oct. 14.

Log those minutes, shoot for the stars and let’s reach three million minutes, BCSD!
