GCH Community Goose Creek High School is a comprehensive high school that also serves as the home of the Berkeley Center for the Arts. We are a part of one of the fastest growing areas in Berkeley County. The student population of Goose Creek High School is large and diverse, with nearly two thousand students enrolled in grades nine through twelve. School Improvement Council Goals #1- School Climate A positive school climate is important because it creates a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where students feel valued. This kind of environment encourages learning, supports student well-being, and helps students achieve academic success. What we are doing: By 2027, the percentage of students satisfied with the social and physical environment will increase from 1.26/5 to 2.26/5. GCHS will implement programs to support student social-emotional wellness. GCHS will establish a Student Liaison Group to gather student feedback and lead initiatives that strengthen and improve the school climate.#2- Student Achievement Through teacher and student collaboration, our teachers implement best practices to support the learning needs of all students. What we are doing: By 2027, the average of students scoring "C" or higher on End of Course assessments will increase from 47.75% to 75%. GCHS will analyze achievement data to monitor the effectiveness of curriculum, instruction, and interventions. GCHS will provide support for the effective teaching of all courses.#3- Teacher/Admin Quality High-quality teachers and effective school leadership are essential for supporting student achievement. What we are doing: By 2027, the percentage of teachers returning from previous year - current year from 87.6% to 90%. GCHS will provide professional development and support for teachers undergoing evaluation.Career Pathways GCHS offers 9 CTE programs to fit a wide variety of potential career pathways. Our students can take: Fashion design, Graphic Communications, Health Science, Law Enforcement Services, Marketing Management, Pre-Engineering, Programming and Software Development, Sports Medicine, JROTC, and Welding. Career and Technical Education Achievement The PICA Foundation Recognized 7 Students from GCHS’s Graphics program. 25 Graphic Students earned their ACP Graphic Design & Illustration using Adobe or ACP Visual Design Using Photoshop Certifications. 9 Health Science Students passed their National Health Science exam and 48 students earned their Healthcare Providers Basic Life Support (BLS) Certifications. 8 Fashion & Design Students passed their Fashion, Textiles, and Apparel PrePAC Exam. 26 Students earned their American Welding Society (AWS) certifications. 12 Sports Medicine Students earned their First Aid & CPR Certifications. WOW! Students in our Take the Lead mentoring program raised $6,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Charleston, which is TRIPLE the amount they donated last year. Kudos to all our mentees on this incredible achievement —especially those from Cane Bay High, who donated the most to this special cause.

Tryouts are March 31, April 1-2. Dancers must attend ALL tryout days.

The Goose Creek High Spirit of Gold Band crossed the pond for its marching band show this season! Goose Creek High placed second at the SCBDA Lower State Marching Band Championships and finished seventh overall in SCBDA's AAAAA State Marching Band Championships. This season was the first time in school history that the Spirit of Gold Band was named a AAAAA state finalist!
