Goose Creek High's choir program traveled to Newberry College on April 16 to compete in the Palmetto State Choral Festival sponsored by the South Carolina American Choral Director Association. GCH's Chamber Choir and Sziréndal competed against choirs from all across the state and achieved great results!
For the competition, each choir sang two prepared pieces for a panel of judges and then sight-read a piece of music with only six minutes to prepare. The results?
GCH's Chamber Choir and Sziréndal both earned second place in their respective divisions, Chamber and Treble! Additionally, both choirs scored 96/100 in sight reading. Overall, the Chamber Choir was the fourth highest scoring choir and Sziréndal was the fifth highest scoring choir in the state!
Goose Creek High is so incredibly proud of the work of our students and hope the community will celebrate this incredible accomplishment with GCH!
