Goose Creek High is proud to announce the appointment of former Gator Jamie Fordham as the school’s next Head Football Coach. A Goose Creek High graduate and longtime member of the program’s coaching staff, Fordham now takes the reins of the program that helped shape his athletic and professional journey.
Widely respected for his work in athletic performance and development, Fordham has trained more than 200 athletes across multiple sports and helped develop elite competitors, including All-State athletes, collegiate standouts, and professional football players.
Since 2015, Fordham has played an instrumental role in the continued success of Goose Creek football, coaching at the B-Team, JV, and varsity levels while also serving as the running backs and kick return coach. During his tenure, the program has captured four region championships, and produced numerous standout athletes, including six All-Region selections, four All-State players, and three student-athletes who advanced to NCAA programs.
Principal Will Wilson said Fordham’s connection to the Goose Creek community and his commitment to student-athletes made him the clear choice to lead the program.
“Coach Fordham understands exactly what it means to be a Goose Creek Gator,” Wilson said. “He has invested years into this program and our students, and his leadership, passion, and commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the field will continue to move Goose Creek football forward.”
Fordham said returning to lead the program where he once played is both meaningful and motivating.
“It is an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to serve and lead at the place that helped mold and shape my life in such a positive way,” Fordham said. “There is truly no place I would rather be than home at Goose Creek High School.
Before beginning his coaching career, Fordham was a standout running back at Coastal Carolina University. He surpassed the 1,000-yard career rushing milestone, becoming the fifth player in Coastal Carolina history and 20th player in Big South Conference history to eclipse the mark. Fordham finished his career with 1,172 rushing yards and ranks among the conference’s top career rushers.
Fordham holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sport Management from Coastal Carolina University and is certified in strength and conditioning, speed and agility training, and player safety.
