The kindergarten students in Ms. McGee's and Mrs. Henley's class used chalk and playdough to create 2-dimensional shapes.

Goose Creek Elementary has been blessed by the Goose Creek Walmart Supercenter and Walmart Neighborhood Market! These generous stores have provided enough pumpkins for each of our classes to get their very own pumpkin! Each class will be decorating their pumpkin to represent their favorite book or book character. Pumpkins will be displayed at next Thursday's Trunk or Treat! We would also like to give a special thanks to Terrell, a Goose Creek Elementary Alumni, for loading up Dr. Gebhardt's car. He is not only incredibly strong, but also an amazingly kind young man who we are proud to call one of our own. Thanks Terrell for proving that "once an otter, always an otter"!

Students in Mrs. Drennon's and Mrs. Myer's 4K class are having so much fun exploring the roles of community helpers in dramatic play centers!

Good Afternoon GCE Families,
Please remember that tomorrow is school picture day.
Have a great evening!

Just a friendly reminder that GCE's half-day dismissal is at 10:50 am. Students with a red bus tag attached to their bookbag must still have an adult waiting for them at the bus stop.

Parents and Guardians,
Students who are not in school today and who do not have their packets of work or their Chromebooks, will be given their assignments when they return to school and they will have three days to complete their work. Once their work is completed they will be marked present for our eLearning day.

Greetings Parents and Guardians,
With today's half-day dismissal and rainy weather, we expect car-rider dismissal to take a little longer than usual. Please be patient with us as we do our best to keep the students dry and safe this afternoon.

Due to the potential for severe weather resulting from Hurricane Idalia, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools will follow the half-day dismissal bell schedule (https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/bcsd/page/school-bell-schedules) on Wednesday, August 30. Thursday, August 31, students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments. All schools and offices will be closed Thursday. BCSD will resume normal operations Friday, September 1.
Before and after-school care programs, activities, and athletics, to include practices and games, are canceled for Wednesday, August 30, and Thursday, August 31. Normal activities and operations will resume on Friday, September 1.
On Thursday, August 31, students will complete eLearning assignments from home via Schoology, Google Classroom, SeeSaw, or other designated virtual learning platforms. Specific information about assignments will be provided by the student’s teacher and/or school. Teachers will share information regarding their office hours to support students completing eLearning assignments at home. More information here: https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/bcsd/page/elearning-day-faqs
Due to the potential for severe weather, and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of students, staff, and families, the district will not operate virtual feeding sites on Wednesday or Thursday.
BCSD officials work in partnership with Berkeley County Emergency Management and receive regular updates regarding the weather from the National Weather Service.
As safety and security is our number one priority, officials will continue to monitor the weather and assess any resulting damage.
Schools and offices will reopen and resume normal operations on Friday, September 1.

Berkeley County School District is currently monitoring the forecasts and receiving regular updates from Berkeley County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service on Tropical Storm Idalia. At this time, there are no changes to school operations. Any changes to operations will be communicated to staff and parents.
