We are excited to invite our families, community members, and alumni to our Black History Program! Please join us on Friday, February 27th from 12:45–1:30 PM. Our students and teachers have been working hard, and we cannot wait to share this meaningful cultural celebration filled with music, dance, and art. Please contact your child's teacher or the school if you have any questions!

Thank you in advance!

Thanks to a generous donation from Daniel Island Rotary and a new partnership with the nonprofit Books in Every Bag, every child age 5 and under at Cainhoy Elementary and in the Huger community has the opportunity to enroll in a program to receive one free book mailed to their house each month until their 5th birthday.
Check your child’s bookbag today for a registration form and fill it out for any child in your home age 5 or younger and return it to the school. We’ll make sure your family gets registered.
Questions? Call the school office or stop by during school hours.
A huge thank-you again to Daniel Island Rotary and Books in Every Bag for supporting early literacy in our community! Pictured: Instructional Coach Jennifer Rutledge, Barnie Howell (President/CEO, Books in Every Bag), and Chip Law (Daniel Island Rotary).

Readers are leaders at CHE! 📚✨
Thanks to Title I funds, our Kindergarten–3rd graders now have Just Right Readers selected to match their iReady levels, ensuring each student receives a set of 10 books tailored to their needs, four different times throughout this year.
To kick off this initiative, our 4th & 5th graders are joining our younger students for morning reading time after breakfast each day to help our students grow as readers! It is a great way to start off our mornings! We can’t wait to watch curiosity, confidence, and a love of reading light up our hallways.❤️
Parents, in a few weeks, your students will be bringing their first round of books home to show off just how hard they have been working!
