books open in front of library shelves

Berkeley County School District is excited to announce the new goal of our district’s reading challenge – Berkeley Book Blast! We are journeying around the world with a good book as we set the ambitious goal to read 15 million minutes as a school district by the end of the school year.

This challenge is open to all BCSD students, faculty and staff! We'll use Beanstack, an interactive reading platform to track our reading time, map our progress and earn souvenir badges as we travel into the wonderful world of reading.

Students can log their reading time via the Beanstack button in Classlink on their district Chromebook. If you have a younger student and would like to log their reading time for them, then you can download the Beanstack mobile app.

Mobile App Student/Parent Login Instructions:

  1. Viewing the landing page, select “Find your school or library”

  2. Type your school name in the search bar and select your school.

  3. On the log in page select “Sign In With Username & Password”

  4. Enter your child’s BCSD username (the same one they use to access their Chromebook apps - contact the teacher if necessary). The password for Beanstack is their last name in all lowercase letters. Then you are all set to start tracking the minutes your child reads each day!

Adventure awaits, BCSD!
