A familiar face will be leading the Berkeley Middle Bucks this upcoming school year; the school is excited to see Lyndi Valicek step into her new role as principal.

Valicek studied elementary education at Charleston Southern University. She holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum/Instruction: Technology from Grand Canyon University. She received her Administrative Add-On through Gardner-Webb University.

Valicek has spent all 19 years of her education career in Berkeley County School District. She taught English/language arts, social studies and math at Macedonia Middle for 10 years, plus one year teaching English/language arts and social studies at H.E. Bonner Elementary. She was also a Title 1 Facilitator and Tech Coach at Macedonia during the 2016-2017 school year before transitioning into the role of an Innovative Learning Coordinator for six years.

In late 2022 she joined Berkeley Middle as an assistant principal. She is eager to continue leading the school in her new role this year.

“Over the past several years, I've had the privilege of building relationships with our students, staff and families, and those relationships have only strengthened my love for this school,” she said. “I look forward to leading with integrity, listening with intention, and working alongside our incredible staff to create opportunities for every student to thrive. Families can expect a school that values partnership, celebrates growth, and remains committed to The Berkeley Standard.”

Families are invited to come out to the school on Thursday, July 23 for a Meet and Greet with Ms. Valicek. The Kona Ice truck will be on site for families to purchase some frozen treats.

This is a very casual, drop-in style event; the school will welcome families between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
