Chris Thurman has been named interim principal of Berkeley Middle.
Before coming to BMS, Mr. Thurman was an assistant principal at Philip Simmons Middle for seven years. His career as an educator spans over 14 years in which he has also taught mathematics, life skills and computer science courses.
"I’m looking forward to empowering students and teachers while engaging Berkeley Middle School families and the Moncks Corner community in the education process," Thurman said. "I’m excited for this new experience and look forward to making a positive difference!"
Mr. Thurman holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Clemson University, a M.Ed. in secondary administration and supervision from Southern Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing an EdD in educational leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
