Be kind; your words don't rewind. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, all our schools will observe Unity Day -- a day where we can send a visible message of building commUNITY in BCSD. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to make a positive difference together on Unity Day by wearing orange.

🧬🌿 Biology in Action! 🦌💙💛 Who says learning Biology has to stay inside the classroom? Students in Mrs. Stokes’ and Mrs. Johnson’s Biology 1 classes took their learning outside for a hands-on lesson exploring Natural Selection! 🔬 Through an interactive activity, students explored how organisms with different traits may have advantages in certain environments, helping them better understand survival, adaptation, and how populations change over time. This is what learning looks like when students are actively engaged, collaborating, thinking critically, and making real-world connections to scientific concepts! 👏 A big shoutout to Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Johnson for creating meaningful learning experiences that bring science to life! 🎃💙💛 STAGTOBERFEST 2026! 💛💙🎃 What an AMAZING week at Berkeley High School! 🦌🍂 Last week, we celebrated STAGTOBERFEST, our special Staff Appreciation Week, and we had a BLAST celebrating the incredible teachers and staff who make BHS such a special place! We packed the week with treats, fun, and a whole lot of STAG PRIDE! 💙💛 ☕ Monday – Coffee Kickoff! We started the week off right with Tom’s Coffee Truck serving up a little morning happiness! 🥨 Tuesday – Pretzel Day! Our amazing SPED Department delivered fresh pretzels to staff for a delicious afternoon treat! 🥤 Wednesday – Dirty Root Beer Bar! We were halfway to the FEST and celebrated with a sweet and refreshing Dirty Root Beer Bar! 🍪🍎 Thursday – Sweet Treats & Cider! A little afternoon pick-me-up with sweet treats and apple cider during all three lunches! 🍔🏈 Friday – Tailgating & Burgers! We wrapped up the week with a festive Friday cookout, burgers, and tailgating fun before our football game! Our teachers and staff pour their hearts into our students every single day, and STAGTOBERFEST was our way of saying THANK YOU for all that you do! Your dedication, hard work, and love for our students are what make Berkeley High School such an incredible place to learn and grow. Stags up! District and local government officials, school administrators and students all came out to celebrate the groundbreaking of Berkeley High's new expansion wing. Upon completion, the new two-story facility will provide nearly 41,000 square feet of instructional space!

Berkeley High School is incredibly proud to announce that senior quarterback Henry Rivers (#3) has been selected to represent the SOUTH TEAM in the 2026 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives North-South All-Star Bowl! 🏆

Four years ago, a freshman stepped onto the field and took command of the Berkeley Stags offense. Since that moment, Henry has been the heartbeat of our offense, leading with confidence, toughness, determination, and an undeniable ability to make something special happen every time he touches the football.

FOUR YEARS. ONE QUARTERBACK. AN INCREDIBLE LEGACY. 🔥

🏈 Four-year varsity starting quarterback

🏈 More than 9,600 career yards of total offense

🏈 Over 100 combined passing and rushing touchdowns

🏈 All-Region recognition beginning his freshman season

🏈 Helped lead Berkeley to a 10-win season and a Lower State Championship appearance in 2025

🏈 Named Class AAAAA Player of the Week during his senior campaign

From launching touchdown passes to escaping defenders and making game-changing plays with his legs, Henry has established himself as one of South Carolina's most exciting dual-threat quarterbacks.

But Henry's impact goes far beyond the numbers.

For four seasons, he has embraced the responsibility of leading his teammates, competing through adversity, and representing the Berkeley community with STAG PRIDE. His growth from a talented freshman into a respected senior leader is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and commitment to his team.

And now, the rest of South Carolina gets to see what STAG NATION has known for FOUR YEARS! 👑

Henry will join an elite group of just 88 seniors representing 69 high schools across South Carolina in one of our state's most prestigious high school football showcases.

🌟 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🌟 Today our Berkeley High School English 3 Honors students, led by Dr. Jarrett and Ms. Clancy, participated in a special field study with the Wassamassaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians during their annual Education Day, held as part of their annual PowWow! Our students came to hear the oral storytellers (an absolute thrill! 🎤), but they left with so much more! Students experienced the richness of Native American culture through beadwork, traditional regalia, pottery-making, and basket weaving. They danced to the beat of the drums, fed the tacky marsh horses, and even enjoyed delicious Indian fry bread! 🥁🧺🐴 A heartfelt thank-you to Chief Lisa Collins and the Wassamassaw Tribe of Varnertown Indians for welcoming our students and sharing your culture, traditions, and stories with us. ❤️ Today, our students learned an important lesson: Native Americans aren't just part of our history in the Lowcountry—they are still here! What a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with the living history and culture of our community.
