District administration adjusted the graduation schedule and venues in order to provide for a meaningful experience for graduating seniors.

At the Tuesday, May 26, 2020 meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education, it was announced that Tara Baker will be the next principal at Sangaree Elementary. Her contract will take effect on July 1, 2020.
Dr. Dixon will be leaving the role of principal at Philip Simmons High School in July to join the central office in his new role.
With the use of virtual field trips, St. Stephen Elementary teacher Kimberly Whitaker has found a way to enhance her lessons – and show her students that there is a whole world out there beyond Berkeley County. She recently connected with a former classmate to show her students Venezuela and Colombia.
As teachers viewed a special presentation held via Google Meet, BCSD administrators huddled outside Mrs. Rainey’s home with a small gift and balloons. It wasn’t the grand event of years past with white tablecloths and goblets of sweet tea, but Mrs. Rainey said it was enough to make her feel special.

The purpose of a School Improvement Council is to work with the school principal in planning, reviewing, and evaluating school programs. Input is sought in developing strategic and school renewal plans. The most up-to-date information and data on school programs is shared each month.
