BCSD Security and Emergency Management and law enforcement are continuing to investigate the anonymous posts circulating on social media concerning campus safety. We are actively working together to identify the individual(s)who made/are making the post(s) so that they can be held accountable for their actions. At this time, there is no evidence to substantiate an actual threat to any individual school; however, we will continue the investigation and provide updates as necessary based on any results of the investigation.
As you know, social media posts concerning unfounded and generalized threats to the safety of our campuses are impacting the operations of our schools and creating anxiety amongst our students, staff, and community. Please speak with your children about the responsible use of social media.
Safety and security is our number one priority, and we take all reports concerning the safety and security of our students and staff seriously. We ask that everyone assist us in reporting any concerns they may have to a school staff member, as opposed to posting on social media platforms, so that appropriate investigation and action can be taken to ensure safety on our campuses. We appreciate everyone who helps to keep our campuses safe.
In an effort to ensure safety of all attendees at our athletic events, we are reaching out to inform you of new procedures regarding attendance at high school athletic events, specifically football games.
All elementary and middle school-aged students must be accompanied by a responsible adult to enter any high school athletic event. The adult must pay or use a pass (if applicable) to enter the game and make plans to attend the game along with the elementary/middle school-aged student(s). This means that any child who is not in high school will not be allowed to enter the game without an adult present, this person needs to plan to stay for the game and be over the age of 18.
All spectators are reminded of the Clear Bag Entry Procedure, each ticketed individual will be permitted to carry one clear tote bag, not to exceed 12” x 6 x 12” and a small clutch or wallet can be included in this clear tote if it does not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”.
For more information: https://www.bcsdschools.net/page/clear-bag-no-bag
All spectators must be seated during the event, unless using the restrooms or at the concession stands.
*Please also be reminded that once you have received clearance to enter the event, you will not be allowed to re-enter if you choose to leave at any time.
Our goal is to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all spectators.

For the upcoming school year, all BCSD schools will use Rooms as their direct communication tools for parents, teachers, athletic coaches, club advisors, etc. Because Rooms is located in the Berkeley County School District mobile app, this streamlines communication and minimizes the number of apps parents and guardians need for communication. If you haven't already, download the BCSD app today and turn on notifications so you never miss a message.
