Berkeley County School district is providing an opportunity for your student to choose 3 books from Scholastic at no cost for summer reading material at home. A letter went home on April 9th explaining the process. This letter must be signed and returned in order for your child to choose the books at school. If you would like to assist your child in choosing their books, please contact Mrs. Bowen, SRI Title I Facilitator at 820-3850 for information on how we can accommodate you. The letter must be returned by Friday, April 12th at the start of the school day, 7:20am. Thank you for your support!
Test Prep Pep Rally
April 18th
We will open the book fair and food trucks at 5pm.
Bring a towel or blanket for picnic outside (weather permitting)
The pep rally will be held at 6pm and our test prep booths will open immediately following. The event will last until 7pm.
Our fundraiser has started and some students have already earned their first Dude Perfect collectibles!! If you haven’t already, make sure to check out our fundraiser packet that went home before the break and register online today. It’s super quick and simple and will show you how to send out your first 7 texts and 7 emails so your student can earn his/her first Dude Perfect collectibles too. We cannot wait to see what our school can accomplish when we work together! Thank you for signing your student up and for your orders~ There are so many amazing products and items to purchase!
Make plans to come by the parent partner room after your celebrations. We will be looking at your child's lexile score (according to winter iReady), information on what the score means and where to get resources regarding reading development and free books!
We are working to raise money for SRI through an online sales catalog. Check it out today! We will be selling products online for two weeks.

How It Works:
Your students earn Dude Perfect collectibles they can display and trade with friends throughout the fundraiser.
Each student earns a Dude Perfect collectible for registering and an additional Dude Perfect collectible for each ticket they turn in.
All tickets must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Spring has sprung! BCSD Spring Break runs April 1-5. All students return to school on April 8.
Fifth Grade Field Day!
This Thursday, March 28th is Grade 3 Field Day. Due to rain the event has been moved to our MPR. Parents will not be able to attend the event due to capacity. Thank you for your understanding and we will hope for sunshine next year! Have a wonderful Spring Break!
Due to the wet grass and unusually cold weather this morning the FIFTH Grade Field Day will have a start delay of 9:00 a.m. Thank you.
Our GaGa Pit officially opened this week. The ribbon cutting was held Tuesday and our fifth grade students are enjoying it. The book vending machine is also on order. Thank you parents for participating in our Booster Fundraiser which helped us to purchase these things for our students. Thank you to Ms. Keiser and her class of 22-23, who suggested the idea and started fundraising last year by selling snacks to our students. Again, SRI students Leading Like Champions!
After Spring Break we will have an online Booster Catalog Sale! All online sales will go toward additional playground equipment for our students! Thank you for your support!

Our students really enjoyed Career Day this year. They had an hour to go around the Career Fair and explore different careers. They asked many questions and enjoyed the displays. I was so proud of how they represented SRI. Lead Like Champions!

Our district has partnered with a community organization who will be giving out free groceries to our Berkeley County School District families. The groceries include pastas, canned items, snacks, eggs, milk, meat, etc. The items will be prepacked and ready to be delivered in your car. Sign-up is per family if they wish to receive the groceries. The sign-up link is on the flyer.

Sangaree Intermediate School started a "Legacy Wall" to recognize employees that have stayed at Sangaree 5 or more years. They were recognized for year 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 35. We are proud of the dedication of these outstanding employees. They are building a lasting legacy at SRI!
SRI had our Leadership Day last week with over 60 guests from around our district and state. Over 200 students participated in this event. Our students spoke about our Mission which is to Learn, Lead and Serve. They showcased our school and how they "Lead Like Champions". We will have a Leadership Night for our parents and community members followed by Leadership Idol on May 23rd. More info. will be coming out in early May.
