We are SO proud of our MMSOA readers! 📚
Back in August, we set a lofty community goal on Beanstack — 1 MILLION logged reading minutes.
And guess what? 🎉 WE SURPASSED IT! 🎉
To celebrate, we treated everyone to ice pops because we officially “iced out the competition!” ❄️ What an incredible accomplishment for our entire school community!
But we’re not stopping there…
So what do we do now? We go BIGGER. We’re aiming for 2 MILLION logged minutes before the end of the school year! If we reach this goal, we’ll celebrate schoolwide with a SILENT DISCO 🪩🎧 and a photo booth to capture the fun!
Let’s keep logging those minutes, turning those pages, and showing what MMSOA readers can do! 2 million… here we come! Stay tuned! 👀 A brand-new challenge is launching soon—and don’t be surprised if Benny the Bean pops up as one of the prize options!
Students and staffulty came together to get crafty and spread love throughout our school community. Participants created beautiful “Kindness Makes Us Bloom” artwork using fingerprint painting—each unique print representing how every small act of kindness helps our school grow.
We also designed heartfelt greeting cards and artwork to gift to others, sharing encouragement, appreciation, and a little extra joy.
It was a wonderful reminder that when we create together, we connect together—and kindness truly helps us bloom!

Have a wonderful winter break!

Ms. Clark’s 7th grade GT Math classes partnered with the library for a meaningful (and cozy!) learning experience that brought numbers and books together. During a read-in, students tracked the number of minutes they read at set intervals and then used that data to create graphs.
From there, students will analyze their results to deepen their understanding of graphing, slope, and constant of proportionality (all using real reading data they collected themselves) when they return from winter break.
This cross-curricular collaboration showed students that math is everywhere… even between the pages of a good book! 📖

December Craft Corner Fun! Our December Craft Corner was full of creativity and laughter! Students and Staffulty enjoyed getting crafty as they made festive seasonal decorations, including pine cone pom-pom ornaments and canvas button art. It was such a joy to see everyone slow down, create, and connect while celebrating the season. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering so special.
