Summer Reading
📚🪩 We celebrated a HUGE accomplishment at MMSOA with a silent disco for our entire middle school after students read and logged more than 2 MILLION minutes on Beanstack during the 2025–2026 school year! 🎉

The celebration included two fun photo walls with a custom printed Beanstack photo strip. A life-size Benny the Bean (aka Dr. Canfield) even made an appearance to congratulate our readers! 📸

Watching hundreds of students silently disco together while celebrating reading was truly unforgettable. What an amazing experience for our school community!

We are so proud of our readers and grateful for the excitement our students brought to reading all year long. 🪩📚

Library Book Fair News

Our school community continues to amaze us! 💙

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible students, families, staff, and community members for supporting all three of our Scholastic Book Fairs this year. Because of your enthusiasm and generosity, our fairs were a tremendous success and helped continue building a strong culture of reading at Marrington Middle School of the Arts.

As highlighted in our attached Impact Report, our students purchased an incredible 1,590 books — the equivalent of 286,200 minutes of reading! Through generous Share the Fair donations, we were also able to provide 33 books to students in need.

“Students will read if we give them the books, the time, and the enthusiastic encouragement to do so.”

Thank you for helping us put books into students’ hands and encouraging a lifelong love of reading. Watching our students get excited about books is one of the greatest joys of what we do, and your support makes it all possible! 📖

📚🎉 We did it, Monarchs! 🎉📚

Our recent Scholastic BOGO Book Fair was a record-breaking success — the highest BOGO sales in school history!

This incredible milestone speaks volumes about the strong culture of reading we’ve built together and the value our community places on student literacy. There is nothing quite like seeing students light up as they discover new books, carefully make their selections, and realize they get to take even more home for free!

Watching that excitement—especially right before summer—reminds us why we do what we do. More books in students’ hands means more opportunities to grow, imagine, and explore all summer long.

A big congratulations to our raffle winners—we hope you enjoy your great reads!

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this event such a huge success. Let’s keep the reading momentum going! 📖

Tomorrow is National Purple Up Day, which is celebrated during the Month of the Military Child. It's a wonderful opportunity for our entire school community to show support and appreciation for military families and military-connected children.
Tomorrow we invite you to wear purple to honor the nearly 2 million military-connected children across our country. The color purple is special because it represents the blending of all military branches—the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force—all coming together as one unified force.
By wearing purple tomorrow, we're celebrating the incredible resilience and strength of military children and acknowledging the sacrifices their families make every single day. It's a simple but meaningful way to let these students know their service and their families' commitment are valued and recognized.
We'd love to see as many students, staff, and families as possible wearing purple tomorrow! Whether it's a purple shirt, purple accessories, or even just a purple ribbon—any shade of purple works. It's a great way to build community and show solidarity with our military families.
Thank you so much for being part of our school family, and we hope to see you and your student(s) in purple tomorrow! Have a great evening!
