Attention HHA Families! We have an important update about our chameleon structure. Mr. Doster is finishing up a project for Ashley River Creative Arts now and he will begin working on our chameleon shortly. He is working as quickly as he can but he is behind schedule due to circumstances outside of his control. We are so excited to invite everyone to see it once it is here!

Last night we had our first show of the 2024/2025 school year! The show, We the People: Mighty United, was created entirely by our 4h grade students, the 4th grade teachers and our fine arts team during infusion lessons. The show explored the foundation of our great country, and the people and events that helped shape it. Way to go 4th grade!

Mrs. Daly's class took a tech break after testing today and learned how to create Stop Motion Animation videos with the help of our ILC Ms. Eileen. Students learned how to create a stop motion video using Google slides and how to publish them! We can't wait to see how they are going to use animation in the classroom!

We had the best time today during our professional development! Dr. Seaboldt, BCSD K-5 Math Coordinator, provided training to our staff on math manipulatives. Teachers engaged in hands-on training using math manipulatives to enhance their understanding of foundational mathematical concepts. We can't wait to see these great strategies in action all throughout HHA!

Check out what our 5th graders have been up to this week! 5th graders are learning about the law of conservation of mass which states that matter cannot be created or destroyed. They have also been investigating physical and chemical changes. In this lesson, 5th graders used glowsticks to see if the law of conservation of mass applies to chemical reactions by measuring the mass of their glowsticks before and after a chemical reaction took place. If you'd like to learn more about the law of conservation of mass and chemical reactions, 5th graders made posters that are posted near the 5th grade classrooms.
