Big shoutout to our amazing dance teacher, Kim Steele, who led a super fun and energizing PD session last week for our staff! She walked us through the Brain Dance and shared simple, powerful ways to bring movement into the classroom.

Teachers danced in pairs, laughed a lot, and got creative with choreography using real dance vocabulary. Then teachers took a moment to reflect—thinking about how to use dance to spark learning, build connection, and get students moving with purpose.

Our Kindergarten and First Graders received a visit from the South Carolina Farm Bureau's AG Learning Lab.

Each class spent 45 minutes in the learning lab. During this time, they learned about farming and agriculture, including where the ingredients for pizza come from before they reach the grocery store, and participated in various hands-on activities.

They also had the chance to visit a dairy farm virtually, where they learned how wheat is harvested and turned into flour and how tomatoes become pizza sauce.

Thank you, South Carolina Farm Bureau, for sharing these experiences with our students!

At HHA, every grade level has the exciting opportunity to work with an artist in residence throughout the school year! These talented artists provide our students with unique experiences that enhance their daily arts integration and infusion.

The culmination of this program occurs in fifth grade, where students collaborate with a skilled clay artist to create their own clay portraits. These beautiful portraits are permanently displayed in our hallways, serving as inspiring reminders of the incredible students who have embraced the power of the arts in education throughout our school's existence. 🎨✨

🌟 Additional Arts Experiences at HHA! 🎨

At HHA, our 3rd through 5th graders can dive into a world of creativity beyond the classroom! From learning ballet to designing costumes, and playing hand chimes to crafting amazing 2D and 3D art, our students explore a variety of artistic adventures in fun, once-a-week exploratory classes.

But that's not all! 🎭 Students can also audition for our exciting performing groups: the Art Chameleons, Chameleon Choraleers, AIMS Dance Company, and AIMS Players! These talented groups meet after school once a week as well as once a week during exploratory time to rehearse, and they get plenty of chances to shine on stage with multiple performances throughout the school year.

Join us in celebrating the arts and unleashing creativity at HHA! ✨ #ArtsAtHHA #CreativeKids #PerformingArts #LetsGetCreative #ArtsinEducationWeek

🎭✨ What is arts infusion?

It’s more than painting a poster or singing a song—it’s students using the arts to think, learn, and show what they know.
When a dancer maps out math patterns…
When a playwright explores historical voices…
When a visual artist models ecosystems…
That’s arts infusion.

Let’s teach like artists. Let’s learn like creators.

🎉 Happy Musical Monday! 🎶

We are excited to kick off National Arts in Education Week with a celebration of creativity and talent!

Did you know our amazing tradition of the fifth grade Broadway, Jr. musical started with the Class of 2014-2015? Our very first show was Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr. Since then, every fifth grade class has joined in on this special tradition!

All fifth graders audition for the annual musical by memorizing a monologue, singing, and dancing. Every student gets involved—whether they’re cast in a role, are part of the ensemble, or are on the tech crew creating the magic behind the scenes.

This year, our fifth graders are thrilled to present the fun-filled musical, Junie B. Jones the Musical, Jr., on stage at Goose Creek High School in February!

Let’s celebrate the arts together all week long! 🌟
