Dear Parents and Guardians of the Goose Creek High JROTC,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your Cadet to the Gator Battalion! Our program is now in its 51st year and it is a great honor for me, Command Sergeant Major Mark Gladden, Chief Warrant Officer Three Stephen Burgess, and First Sergeant Craig Maxwell to be a part of the GCHS teaching team and to work with the young men and women of Goose Creek High School. We are looking forward to another exciting, active, and productive year for the JROTC program!
We collectively have 73 years of active duty Army experience and take our work seriously. Our program has been awarded “Honor Unit with Distinction”, the highest award available. This is due to the hard work and dedication of our Cadets in striving to make the program exceptional.
During their time in the program, your Cadet will have the opportunity to participate in service projects and co-curricular activities. Through these activities, they will learn and practice leadership and teamwork skills that will be valuable in their future. Your Cadet will have high- attainable- expectations throughout the year. In accordance with CCR-145-2, cadets will be required to wear their program-administered uniforms. Uniform Inspections will be conducted once a week and is 40% of each cadet’s grade. As this class counts as a PE credit, physical activity will be conducted once a week as well, for all cadets.

Once again, CW3 Burgess, First Sergeant Maxwell, and I feel genuinely blessed to be working with the Cadets of Goose Creek High. We cannot wait to see what the 2022-2023 school year brings for the Gator Battalion!
