Hello, my name is Chris Swetckie and I am thrilled to be a part of the CPM family! This year we will continue to build on the strong traditions in place at our school.  I know you will continue to find a safe, nurturing, creative, and academically rigorous environment here at College Park Middle.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the Citadel.  Prior to becoming the principal of CPM, I spent 12 years as the principal of Howe Hall AIMS in BCSD and three years serving as both a middle school and elementary principal in Charleston County.

We are always striving to find ways to strengthen our partnerships with our families and the community. I hope this website will help you find some areas to get involved at our school.  Please don't hesitate to email me at swetckiec@bcsdschools.net, call me at 843-820-3899 (school), 843-297-6739 (cell), or simply stop by if you would like to discuss our school and how we can better serve your child.

Ms. Harrop returns to College Park Middle this year after spending several years as an administrator on multiple BCSD campuses.

She has been in the district since 2002 taught social studies and Russian before becoming an administrator.

Ms. Harrop earned her bachelor’s degree in Russian language and Russian studies from Brigham Young University, a master’s degree in secondary administration from Charleston Southern University, and an education specialist degree from The Citadel. She is currently working on her doctorate from Clemson University.

Ms. Harrop believes that establishing a positive rapport with students, faculty, staff and parents is an essential first step in being an effective educator. She also believes that all students are capable of learning and becoming their best selves by working hard and taking risks.
